HALLOWEEN PARTY 2011

A 'Shout Out' to our Halloween Party mom, Wendy Mills! What great organizing!  We had a fantastic group of parent volunteers, and we thank you!  The party was a huge hit! Our annual "Mummy Wrap" was, as usual, the most requested activity.  The kids decorated cookies, competed in an M & M straw contest, and ate some special Halloween treats and witches brew!  Thanks for all you do, volunteers!

OcToBeR AcTiViTiEs!

Thanks to the parents that have contacted Wendy Mills, our Halloween Party Planner, to help out with our class Halloween Party. Party planning is in full swing...anything you can do to help is always appreciated.  Halloween Party - October 27, at 12:45. Please join us!

Here are our latest creations to complete our study of bats.  Also, check out their "expressive" jack-o-lanterns.  They make me giggle!

Below is our "Witches' Brew" directed draw.  It's a step-by-step drawing activity that gives children the confidence that they can be successful at art.  They came out great, don't you think?

We also have a brand new addition to Spelling City.  The Koenigsburg family has generously donated funds for the upgraded edition of  Spelling City, which includes Vocabulary practice, and all types of educational games included in the new Common Core Standards. Attached to your child's spelling list this week please find their NEW Spelling City username and password.  When you go to Spelling City, please have your child log in now under the tab of student, with their username and password. It's a great learning tool! Please check it out and use it asap!

The Caughlin Fest on Friday was a great time for the kids!  A big "Thank you" to the parents and PTA who were able to donate their time for this fun activity for our children! <3

Halloween Party

Our classroom Halloween party will be on Thursday, October 27th at 12:45.  Our Party Planner is Wendy Mills.  She has a list of parents who have already donated some time to make our party successful.  If you would like to help with planning, needed items, or on the day of the party, please contact Wendy directly, or email Mrs. R. or myself.  Our longest running party activity, "the Mummy Wrap," needs toilet paper.  If you read this blog, and you send in a roll or 2 of toilet paper, your child will be rewarded with a coupon.  All parents are welcome the day of the party!  Hope to see you there!

We are in our 2nd week of our study of bats.  The students are very inquisitive and have just finished a Cinquain poem about bats.  If you'd like to read your child's poem, or check out their bat, they will be on display on the bulletin board outside our classroom along with and some very goofy jack-o-lanterns.  Pictures will be posted shortly.  Stay tuned!
