What a great day we had! The kids all looked great in their pirate costumes. It was a very full day. A big "Thanks!" to Mrs. Brust for baking the amazing pirate cupcakes with the Jolly Roger flag flying high on them and pirate dust twinkling on the ocean waves. We added a new activity this year to Talk Like a Pirate Day. We had a guest speaker join us in the afternoon with 2 of her macaws, one of them highly endangered. The kids were full of questions, and I know they learned a lot about these amazing birds from the rainforest. Thank you, parents, for helping make the day special for your child. Next activity...Making Apple Pie and learning about measurement.
