September Book Orders

You may place book orders online by clicking the box above. Pamphlets went home in the paperwork packet on Monday and orders may still be placed on the pamphlets with checks sent in to school. However, for every order placed online we receive $3 of free books for our classroom and you will receive a $5 coupon for every order. It's super easy. Just click on the link and use the classroom code  DXJ9M the first time.

 Book orders are due back to me no later than Thursday, September 6th.

AAaarghhh! TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!

A quick reminder that Friday, Sept. 14th is "Talk Like a Pirate Day!" It is for 2nd grade only, and most of the kids have been waiting for this day since 1st grade. We are telling you about it ahead of time so you will have plenty of time to help your child plan their costume for the day, if they choose to dress up.  Be creative!  Google some pictures of pirate costumes and come up with your own special design! They get to dress like a pirate for the entire school day.  There is no need to buy a costume, unless you'd like to.  It's always a fun day! 

Also, a big THANK YOU to all the parents for sending in supplies right away! Just a reminder, the class fee is $40.  Please email us or send in a note if there is a difficulty with this or if you'd like to pay it in 2 installments.  

Monday we sent home a packet of paperwork that needs to be completed. Please send back the paperwork as soon as possible.  

Your child's spelling contract came in that packet, as well. Please read the cover page and go over the spelling contract with your student.  Their completed spelling items need to come back to school on Friday morning.  They must do a minimum of 3 items.

We are looking forward to seeing you at Back to School Night, which is Tuesday, September 11, from 6:00 - 7:30.

The 1st day of school!

Parents, what a great 1st day! The kids all left with smiling faces. Tonight, in their homework folder, you will find a packet with papers to read, sign, and send back. Please look for their spelling contract for the week, as well. Read the letter attached to it, and then go over it with your student.  They won't hand any spelling contract items in until Friday, but the math pages need to be completed tonight and returned tomorrow. Math will be coming home nightly and will need to be returned the next day.

Healthy Snack Reminder!

Just a reminder that your student may bring in a healthy snack daily. So if you wish your student to have a snack, just be sure it is a healthy one and easy to eat in a few minutes. Get a good night's sleep, and we look forwardto seeing you Monday morning lined up along the fence between the kindergarten playground and the primary playground!

We hope you're enjoying your 

last few weeks of summer vacation. 

Our 2nd grade classroom is K2 and 

is located at the end of A Hall.

Looking ahead, our class holds a used book sale every February to raise money to adopt an animal at Animal Ark. So if you're cleaning out your bookcases, please consider bringing your unwanted children's books to our classroom 
for our upcoming book sale.
